THE first fundraising event to be held in memory of Kingsman Deady will take place on Halloween.

The fancy dress event will start at 3pm and go on until midnight at the Monaco Ballroom in Atherton Road, Hindley.

Daniel Deady’s partner Jennifer Broadley, aged 23, said: “The only thing we are having to pay for is the use of the hall.

“Everybody has given their time or donated goods for free.”

There will be live music, including the Houghton Weavers and fundraising events taking place throughout the day and evening.

Miss Broadley, who would have been Kingsman Deady’s sister-in-law next year, said: “We thought about organising something while Darren was still in hospital because of all the help we had received.

“This event is for Help For Heroes, but we want to do the same for all the other organisations including the regiment’s charity and other organisations which help soldiers.”

She added: “The event will have something for all the ages and will be very family orientated.”

Miss Broadley said she is still looking for someone to provide a buffet and a cake for the occasion as well as doormen for the evening.

Tickets are priced £5 and £2.50 for children.

They are available by calling 07883 145482.

Anyone who can help by providing food or donating items should also ring the same number.
