RICARDO Gardner has linked-up with former Wanderers assistant Phil Brown at Preston North End.

The Jamaica international has moved to Deepdale on a one-month loan deal after recovering from a long term knee injury.

Gardner made his playing return for Wanderers in a behind closed doors friendly agianst Norwegian club Molde last week, and it is hoped a spell in the Championship will help bring him back to full fitness before the end of the current campaign.

The 32-year-old made his last competitive appearance for the Whites was against Southampton in the Carling Cup in September.

He is currently stranded on 399 games in all competitions for the club.
