A FILM-maker from Bolton is looking forward to unveiling his new film at Manchester’s prestigious monthly Kinoshorts event, tomorrow.
Phil Meacham, aged 22 Westhoughton, is the associate producer on Ante, a short film about two ultra-competitive salesmen who hire the same contract killer to take the other one out.
The film stars David Edward-Robertson, who has appeared in Shameless and The Street, and Greg Kelly, who has previously been seen on screen in Hollyoaks and Waterloo Road.
It was made on a budget of just £500, and now the team behind it are hoping it will be accepted at the Los Angeles and London film festivals.
Mr Meacham, who works part time at Blockbuster to fund his film industry ambitions, said: “We are very proud of the film. The camera that we used was revolutionary at the time, and we have had some very good feedback.”
Kinoshorts is held at the Greenroom, in Whitworth Street West.
The evening starts at 7.30pm, and admission costs £5.
