A MAN who sexually assaulted a teenager on a train to Bolton is being hunted by police.
The 19-year-old, from Old Trafford, was on a train from Manchester when the man sat down next to her and touched her inappropriately throughout the journey.
He leaned in to kiss her on the cheek before he got off the train at Bolton station.
PC Angela Mehmi, from British Transport Police, said: “This made the victim feel very uncomfortable.
“Since the incident the victim has been unable to board another train.
“I’d ask anyone who has any information about the incident to contact police as a matter of urgency.”
The man was white, aged 50 to 60, about 5ft 10in and heavy build.
He had a grey receding hairline and spoke with a southern European accent.
The incident happened on the 10.54 Manchester Piccadilly to Preston service on Thursday, February 17.
Police are following several lines of inquiry, including speaking to witnesses and carrying out anniversary visits in the area.
