OWEN Coyle hopes derby passion will be enough to spark one last charge for top- six football from his battle-weary troops.
Wanderers looked a fading force at Fulham on Wednesday night as they slumped to a 3-0 defeat and missed the chance to climb above Everton into seventh place.
And while Coyle accepts that certain players are running on empty with four games of the season remaining, he has vowed to do everything in his power to ensure the Whites make a strong finish, starting with the short trip to face struggling Blackburn Rovers.
“I do accept they have worked their socks off this season, and there were times against Fulham that it looked like one or two might need freshening up, or it had been a game too far,” he said.
“But I’ll do everything I can to lift those players because they have been magnificent for me, and they will be again."
