A TRIBUTE page set up on the social networking site Facebook for tragic teenager Reece O’Neill already has more than 500 members.

The 16-year-old was on an off-road motorcycle when it was in collision with a car at the junction of Marsden Road and Moor Lane in Bolton town centre at 12.45am on April 7.

Reece, who lived in Great Lever, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hundreds of friends and family have joined the Facebook page in his memory and a date has now been set for the teenager’s funeral.

Police have also renewed their appeal for information about the crash.

Relatives and friends will attend St Joseph’s RC Church in Halliwell on Wednesday for the service, followed by interment at Astley Bridge Cemetery.

Reece’s family, including his parents, Chantelle and Gary, and siblings Kieran and Jamie, have paid tribute to a “muchloved son and brother”.

Tributes on the social networking site include “you were such a lovely lad with a cheeky smile”, “an ace lad” and “an amazing person who should still be here with us”.

Other messages say a “tragic waste of a young life” and “everybody misses you so much. You were taken far too soon but you'll have a place in our hearts forever”.

Reece was on the offroad motorbike with an 18-year-old youth when the crash happened.

His teenage companion suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Nissan Micra involved in the collision was unhurt.
