HAVING been through the stresses and strains of a relegation fight last season, Owen Coyle admits he has sympathy with his opposite number Steve Kean in the build-up to this afternoon’s Lancashire derby.
The Wanderers boss walked headlong into a battle against the drop when he swapped Turf Moor for the Reebok last January.
And while he eventually guided the whites to safety with room to spare, he knows exactly how critical points are for Rovers at Ewood Park as they aim to keep their heads above water.
“Blackburn are desperate for the points as are anyone in that group of teams,” he said.
“We know that feeling because we were there 16 months ago.”
