THREE violent yobs who attacked a couple following a pub row — leaving their victims with injuries including a fractured wrist and a broken leg — have been spared jail.

Brant Chadwick, aged 23, of Broadbank House, Ladybridge; Jodie Holt, aged 25, of Tarleton Place, off Hulton Lane; and Gareth Wilkes, aged 29, of Knutshaw Crescent, Hunger Hill, all admitted actual bodily harm after the incident on May 29, 2010.

David Riley and Theresa Tobin had been in The Vulcan Inn, Junction Road when Ms Tobin and Holt — who are neighbours — got involved in an argument.

The three defendants were later walking to Tarleton Place when they saw Ms Tobin and Mr Riley, at around 2.20am and a fight ensued.

Wilkes received a 12 months community order with 100 hours unpaid work and a supervision requirement to attend a drink intervention course.

Holt was sentenced to 60 hours of unpaid work.

Chadwick was given a curfew to remain at his home from 8pm until 6am for 20 weeks.
