MARTIN Olsson’s first-half winner condemned Wanderers to their 10th defeat in 11 Premier League away games.

The Blackburn winger punished a catalogue of errors to seal three valuable points for relegation-threatened Rovers at Ewood Park.

Owen Coyle’s side have now not won on their league travels since defeating Wolverhampton on November 13.

The Bolton boss rang the changes following Wanderers’ midweek defeat at Fulham, handing rare starts to Adam Bogdan, Ricardo Gardner and Rodrigo, while David Wheater suffered a torrid afternoon filling in at right back for the injured Gretar Steinsson.

Rodrigo almost broke the deadlock when he rattled the woodwork early on after Michel Salgado had unintentionally headed into the on-loan Benfica forward’s path.

But Wanderers, second best throughout, found themselves behind on 20 minutes when Rodrigo squandered possession and, after Wheater backed off, Olsson beat Adam Bogdan low down.

Bolton’s young Hungarian goalkeeper made amends soon after to deny the excellent Olsson.

Blackburn had the chances to kill the game off after the interval but Benjani was slow to react to Olsson’s cross before Steven Nzonzi looped a header inches wide after Bogdan had flapped at Paul Robinson’s long free kick.

Sub Mame Diouf spurned a wonderful opportunity to wrap up the points when he side-footed over from eight yards.

Wanderers never really looked like equalising, with Martin Petrov's drive into the side netting the closest they came in a lacklustre display.
