BOLTON gas servicing and maintenance contractor BHE Services has marked its 40th anniversary by launching a new division.

The Renewable Energy Services section is the latest step for the company which celebrated 40 successful years in business with a special event at its head office in Radcliffe Road, Bolton.

Managing director Mike Robinson told a mixed audience of employees, clients, an MP and leading figures from the region’s building services sector, that the company was continually evolving to meet the demands of today’s customers.

Mr Robinson said: “BHE Services has grown considerably since 1971. The business has evolved and adapted in order to meet customer demand and now it stands as an important regional employer.

“As gas specialists, we’ve always been keenly aware of the need for energy efficiency, safety and environmental responsibility and so I’m proud that our commitment has been recognised, not only through our various accreditations but also through our growing commercial success in the gas maintenance and renewable energy sectors.”

BHE Services’ underlying philosophy may not have changed in the past four decades, but its services and operations have. To emphasise this evolution, BHE director Paul Wilkinson invited Yasmin Qureshi, MP for Bolton South East, to conduct the formal unveiling of the renewable energy services new livery team vehicles.

Ms Qureshi said: “I'm delighted to have joined BHE Services to celebrate 40 years in business in Bolton.

“Generating local jobs is really important, particularly in the current economic climate, and it is always nice to recognise local success stories.

“I think that renewable energy is going to be a significant area of economic activity in the future and I’m proud to support BHE Services’ efforts in developing their business in that market.”

Daniel Silcock, an experienced sustainable energy specialist, now leads the Renewable Energy Services division as project manager.

The team offers an advice, design, installation and maintenance service for all manner of renewable technologies, ranging from solar photovoltaic arrays and solar water heating systems to air source heat pumps and combined heat and power units.

The company works with local authorities, housing associations, businesses and homeowners throughout the region and now employs more than 75 staff.
