BOXING twin Simon Jenkinson cannot wait to make his professional debut in Preston.

The 27-year-old light-middleweight will take on Rick Boulter on Saturday after turning pro earlier this year.

Brother Chris’s first outing in the paid ranks ended in disaster last month when problems behind the scenes with his opponent led the bout to be cancelled at the last minute.

And Simon, who won 25 out of 30 fights as an amateur, is eager to show fans what they have been missing when he steps into the ring. The Halliwell hard man said: “I can’t wait to get in there. Training has been brilliant and I feel so strong at the weight.

“I’ve over-trained in the past but this time I feel great. It’s my pro debut and I’m really looking forward to it.

“I’m not nervous because I’ve worked really hard and done everything right. It’s going to be a top night.”

Jenkinson’s opponent Boulter, a 31- year-old southpaw from Lincoln, has won just once in 14 contests. And trainer Alex Matvienko is confident his man can make a winning start.

He said: “It won’t be an easy fight because Boulter is an awkward, counter-puncher but Simon is looking really good.”

Jenkinson’s debut clashes with Manchester United’s Champions League showdown with Barcelona.

But he is encouraging supporters to come down and watch both at the Lava and Ignite nightclub.

“They wil be showing the match as well on big screens so people will be able to watch both,” said the tiler.

“It’s going to be a great night and hopefully everyone can come down and enjoy it.”
