MORE subcontractors of failed building firm, Hayvern Construction Limited, have spoken of their struggle to pick up the pieces.

The company called in the administrators on May 18, with The Bolton News understanding that cashflow problems were the cause of the downfall.

Around 70 people have lost their jobs and there are fears suppliers and subcontractors will go under as well.

Hayvern is based in Jackson Street, Farnworth.

Businesses that worked with the firm have spoken of the battle they now face.

It was reported earlier this week that companies were owed tens of thousands of pounds and some were scaling back their work.

Now more subcontractors have come forward in similar situations.

Daly Contract Services, in Manchester Road, Walkden, had been involved with Hayvern for around five years doing Tarmac work.

Peter Daly, from the firm, said: “I am owed about £6,000 and I was expecting more work from them.

About a quarter of what we did was for them.

“I don’t know what I am going to do, it’s going to be really tough.”

Another subcontractor, who does not wish to be identified, is owed £32,000.

He said: “I worked with them for about seven years, it was virtually all my work and I am owed a lot of money. I am not confident of getting any money and I am really struggling. I’ve just got to keep going and hope for the best.”
