RAPISTS who plied their teenage victim with drink and drugs before both having sex with her have been convicted.

A 16-year-old girl and a 13- year-old, who did not know each other, were raped on separate occasions by Adil Iqbal.

Married Mazar Latif also raped the older girl.

The mother of the 13-year-old sobbed as the jury at Bolton Crown Court found Iqbal guilty of two rapes and Latif guilty of a single rape.

Afterwards she said: “She is not coping well and is going through counselling, but it will take time. This verdict will help.

“We wouldn’t want any girl to go through this ever again.

“It has been completely devastating but I won’t let it ruin her life.”

The trial heard Iqbal and Latif picked up the 16-year-old in the early hours of June 3 last year.

She had rowed with her mother after spending the evening drinking with friends and was walking around the streets when she was spotted on Manchester Road by the pair.

She was picked up and Iqbal took her into a house where he gave her cocaine and more drink until she was unable to fight him off as he raped her.

Afterwards he put her back into the car and Latif drove her to a secluded spot where he raped her.

Eventually he let her go at a taxi rank, where she got a cab to her grandmother’s house and police were contacted. Two months later, in August, a 13- year-old girl also fell victim to Iqbal. She visited a house with a friend and found him there.

When others left the room Iqbal locked the door, forced the girl to the floor and raped her.

Her ordeal only ended when her friend hammered on the door, demanding to be let in.

Police were contacted after the girl told a nurse at the Parallel clinic.

Iqbal, aged 25, of Anglia Grove, Daubhill, and Latif, aged 43, of Willows Lane, Deane, had both denied rape.

Judge Timothy Clayson remanded both men in custody until sentencing on July 11.

DC Phil Unsworth, of Bolton CID said: “They have been extremely brave.

“It has been a horrible time for these two girls who have been fantastic throughout.

“I am delighted with the verdict.

Two dangerous men are now off the streets.”
