THE Bolton News and Bolton Council have joined forces to launch a new campaign to encourage local employers to offer young people employment through apprenticeships.
The campaign aims to encourage firms to take on young workers and boost the number of apprentices.
This week’s profile focuses on Preeya Bhudia, who works at the Vanity Hair salon in Bury Road, Breightmet.
Her training provider is Training for Today. A spokesman said: “We are an extremely successful training organisation. We were graded ‘good’ in all vocational areas, effectiveness of provision, leadership, management and quality of provision in our latest Ofsted inspection.
“Success rates at the company are consistently maintained above the national average year on year, with many learners progressing onto higher level qualifications, such as level 3 and HE, some of whom open their own businesses and recruit staff in partnership with Training for Today.
“We currently work with more than 900 employers and have been successful in being the first work-based learning provider in the area to achieve the Training Quality Standard whilst also maintaining Matrix accreditation this year.
“We specialise in meeting the needs of learners, employers and partners, providing a service that is second to none.”
Kim Sandiford, from Vanity Hair, said: “Preeya is really enjoying the work and is worth her weight in gold.
“She’s been learning about blow drying, conditioning treatments and colours.
“The scheme benefits us all. We wanted to pass on our knowledge to someone else and help her along.”
