THE glamour of Venetian masquerade balls was recreated in spectacular style.
Guests wearing flamboyant evening wear, disguising who they were, came to support a first-of-its kind support charity set up in memory of baby Lagan Katherine Anne Grant.
Lagan’s mum, Carren Bell, organised the ball at the Brinsop Arms in Westhoughton to raise money to ensure her baby’s name will live on and her legacy will bring hope and care to other babies and families.
Lagan was born on January 11 and died on April 26 due to complex congenital heart defects, known as half-a-heart.
Now, Lagan’s Foundation is recruiting a bank of volunteers to help families of babies who have cardiac problems, or feeding problems, to provide respite care in the home — as well as ensuring families have the confidence to demand services they are entitled to.
Nearly 100 people turned out to show their support for the ball.
