AN epic 10-hour music marathon has helped boost Bolton Hospice funds.

The event, organised by Insyt Media Productions at the Cotton Tree pub, in School Hill, featured 25 young artists and raised £270 for the charity.

It started with a family fun day with stalls, tombola, karaoke, DJ and a visit by Bolton Wanderers’ mascot Lofty The Lion.

In the evening, 25 artists took to the stage to perform hip hop, R&B, reggae and dance music.

They were mainly members of Insyt Media Productions, a lottery- funded project based at Bolton YMCA teaching DJ skills, film, media and other creative arts. There was also an artist from OTV Media, based in Morris Green, and guests from Warrington and Manchester.

The event was organised by Rob Stevenson, of Insyt Media, whose grandfather was cared for at St Ann’s Hospice in Little Hulton before he died.

He said: “We wanted to raise money for the hospice and provide a platform to promote our artists and their music.” Plans are already being made for more fundraising events, possibly to support The Bolton News’ campaign to raise £110,000 for the hospice at home service.
