BOLTON fans have condemned a magazine that mocks supporters’ support for Fabrice Muamba following his collapse.
The latest Red Issue, the Manchester United fanzine, features a front cover with the headline “GRIEF JUNKIES RUN RIOT”
above a picture of paramedics trying to resuscitate Muamba on the pitch.
Speech bubbles from the crowd show people saying “Is he dead?”, “I’ve tweeted my condolences just in case” and “good mourning!”
Bolton Wanderers fan Cllr John Walsh said: “I think those who do something like this demean themselves more than anything with their pathetic actions.”
A Red Issue spokesman said the criticism was aimed at people who expressed “fake sentiments”, not at Muamba.
