MODELLING scouts from the Miss England competition will be in Bolton looking for contestants for “Miss Bolton 2012”.

The scouts will be at the Market Place Shopping Centre from 9.30am until 4.30pm on Saturday.

They are on the lookout for candidates from across the region to take part in the Miss Bolton heat and the new Junior Miss Bolton event.

Organiser and scout Kerry Capoverde said: “We have had a great response for the competition already and are confident the next Miss England could be hiding in the crowds.

“The Junior category not only gives 13 to 16 year olds the chance to take part in a fashion show, but to learn about charity work and volunteering.

It’s a real character building experience.”

The winner of Miss Bolton 2012 will, amongst other prizes, win a place in the Miss England competition, where she will have a chance to go on to Miss World, where the main prize is $100,000.

Participants must be aged between 13 and 16 or 17 and 24, and must never have been married or have children. Girls who cannot get to the event on Saturday can still apply at miss-bolton.co.uk The final of Miss Bolton is scheduled to
