OWEN Coyle is calling on Wanderers fans to pull together and roar the Whites on to safety.

Victory in Wednesday night’s crucial home clash with Spurs would see the Whites pull clear of the relegation zone with two games to play.

And after hailing the fans’ backing at both Villa Park and the Stadium of Light in the last week, Coyle wants to see the Reebok packed to the rafters to help knock the Champions League chasers out of their stride.

“If we get the backing at home that we do away from home and get all that vocal energy together instead of being split between the three stands – get the same unity we get away – it will make it a real tough night for Spurs,” he said.

Coyle claimed his team were worth three points at Sunderland, but having earned just one means they go into the Spurs game still in the bottom three.

Wigan’s shock win at home to Newcastle United gave the Latics a headline-grabbing boost, but the Whites boss remains confident Bolton’s steadily improving form will be enough to get over the line.

“Whatever anyone else does is up to them,” he said. “Our fate remains in our own hands.

“We have taken four points from two tough away games, now we have two home games and we have to utilise our game in hand against Spurs, and then West Brom on the back of it.

“We decide our own fate and if we get performances like we have been doing then we will stay in the Premier League. That's 14 points from 24 now and, in truth, it probably should have been 16 from 24.

“We have to carry on that vein of form.”
