MARK Davies could miss out on tomorrow’s must-win encounter with Stoke City after becoming the latest name on Wanderers mounting sick list.

The midfielder has been absent from training all week with tonsillitis and rated as a major doubt to start at the Britiannia Stadium.

Owen Coyle has hope that Darren Pratley will continue his steady progress after illness and could play some part, while Nigel Reo-Coker also trained yesterday after being given time off to rest a hamstring problem.

After David Wheater ruptured his cruciate ligament in last week’s 2-2 draw with West Brom, Zat Knight is in line to take his place at the heart of defence.

And Coyle could also choose to bring back Chung-Yong Lee into his starting line up after the South Korea international came through another week of training without a hitch.

Meanwhile, full-back Gretar Steinsson has admitted defeat in his bid to play again this season.

The Icelander had an injection to calm a thigh injury but has now been ruled out of the final game.

Stoke are waiting on the fitness of left-back Marc Wilson, who had a scan on his back yesterday.

Defender Andy Wilkinson (groin) and winger Jermaine Pennant (hamstring) are expected to be fit while Dane Thomas Sorensen will keep his place in goal as he builds up to next month’s Euro 2012 tournament.
