Derek Scramell, aged 68, from Horwich, predicts a 2-0 win at the Britannia.

He said: “We have been seriously unlucky this year to lose so many key players to injury.

“We are a really good side with a reasonable team and an excellent manger. Once we get all the players back from injury we can really push on next season.”

Dennis Flannigan, aged 58, from Chorley, said: “I’m not optimistic but I’m still holding out. We’ve had to go through this before so hopefully we survive again.

“This season has been extremely disapointing, but it’s our own fault. Our squad is out of depth and our two best players were injured.

Those that were brought in aren’t good enough for this league.”

Andrea White, aged 47, from Heaton, goes to every home game but is too nervous to travel to Stoke tomorrow. She said: “When we threw away the lead against West Brom, all I could do was cry. I go to every home game and some away games but I can’t face watching it this weekend. I’m just going to lock myself in a room until its over!

“Coyle is the right man for Bolton no matter what division we are in. If we do go down on Sunday he is the right man and I’ll fully support him.”

Darren Challender, aged 44, from Adlington, has challenged the players to give “everything they’ve got” to help save a relatively poor season.

He said: “It’s not been good at all, both on and off the pitch. We had the chance to bring some players in to improve the squad but we didn’t.

Mr Challender, who goes to every home game with his son and daughter, added: “The injuries to Stuart Holden and Chung-Yong Lee didn’t help as well as the unfortunate events of Fabrice Muamba. But the management have also made some questionable selections and tactics at times and some players have made costly errors.

“One minute I think we can survive, then the next minute I think we’ll end up relegated.

I just hope the players put in their best efforts.”
