A TOWN centre nightspot facing a licensing review has been given planning permission to create extra bar space.
The owners of Vogue Bar, in Bradshawgate, claim it is so popular at weekend that customers are being turned away.
Bolton-based Neil Pike Architects submitted an application to Bolton Council to extend the bar. Under the plans, a first-floor office will be converted into an additional bar and toilet.
A feature staircase will be built in the bar, leading to the first floor.
The bar is currently on the ground floor, with toilets in the basement.
The additional bar space will be used for private functions and as an extension to the existing bar on busy weekend nights.
The existing toilets will only be open when both floors are in use.
A licensing review of the bar is set to take place on Tuesday.
The bar has recently hired a new security company to oversee the bar’s night-time operations.
