MOST garden sheds become dumping grounds for old bikes and barbecues — but for one Bolton Wanderers fan, it became a shrine to his beloved football club and a trendy celebrity haunt.

It all started when tattoo artist Dave Taylor, aged 46, from Smithills, started decking his shed in time for the 2010 World Cup.

Since then, Mr Taylor has upgraded the building to a pub, which he has called The Tattooed Arms.

It has become a place to house his two passions — tattoos and football — and is up for the Shed of Year Award 2012.

He said: “Me and my close friends did it to watch the football in.

Then we just had a brainwave and decided to get a bigger shed to make it into a pub as well.

“We collected most of the Wanderers stuff from car boots, apart from all the signed shirts.”

The shed’s facilities now rival that of any pub, boasting three lagers on draught, wi-fi, a television, a 20,000-song karaoke machine and a toilet.

It has earned cult status among fellow Wanderers fans, while a number of players and former players, including El- Hadji Diouf, Gretar Steinsson, Mark Davies and Ricardo Gardner, have called for a pint.

Mr Taylor said: “We have had some very messy nights in there, but my wife Lisa and the kids love it too. We decked it out for Halloween and Lisa has girls’ nights in there on a Friday.”

My Taylor, owner of Bolton’s House of Tattoos, also has a reputation as one of the best tattoo artists in the North West and has worked on several footballers from Wanderers, Manchester United, Stoke City and Manchester City — including Mario Balotelli.

He added: “I’ve always done tattoos for the Bolton players, but now we have players coming from all over for their tattoos. Balotelli was really nice. I don’t believe anything that people say about him.”

Mr and Mrs Taylor have four children – Tyrone, Jack, Angel and Aston.

Voting closes at midnight tomorrow.

The winner will be announced during Shed Week 2012, which starts on July 2
