A TEENAGER is hoping to get into the final of a national beauty pageant.

Gowree Hampapur, aged 16, has already been successful in three rounds of Miss Teen Queen UK.

She has seen off more than 19,000 competitors — and she now hoping the public vote will get her into the final.

Her mum, Dr Ramya Giridhar, said: “One of Gowree’s friends had entered the competition and told her about it, so she decided to enter out of curiosity.

“It was a surprise that she has got so far in the pageant. The organisers said they thought she was lovely.

“Now she needs to get as many votes as possible.”

Gowree, of Kinloch Drive, Heaton, is an AS-level student at Stretford Grammar School and hopes to become a doctor.
