TWO companies have been given more time to prove they did not break the law.

In May, Bolton Council served an enforcement notice to Malrod Holdings and Walter Forshaw Holdings ordering them to landscape land at Stotts Park in James Street, Westhoughton. The council granted planning permission in July, 2010, for a two-storey office building and vehicle workshop to be built there on the condition that the road be widened there to improve access.

Alleging that the work had not been done, the council prosecuted the two firms and the case was heard at Bolton Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Magistrates adjourned the case until July 18 so the council can check if the landscaping work has taken place yet.
