THIEVES broke into four cars parked at Radcliffe Metrolink station and stole items left on the seats.

Police were called to the station in Spring Lane on Sunday morning by a passer-by who saw the smashed windows.

Two Nissan Micras, a Renault Clio and a Vauxhall Corsa had been targeted. It is believed the drivers had left bags and other items on view in their cars while they were parked there overnight.

PC Andy Hall, from Radcliffe neighbourhood policing team, said: “There were 25 cars left on the car park overnight. These four had things on the back seat, such as handbags, coats and rucksacks. The others didn’t have anything on the seats. I would remind people not to leave anything on show in their cars, not even a coat or a wire for a satnav. Leave nothing on show and nothing to chance.”

Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
