A CAMPAIGNER has launched a petition to get a bus service to Bolton reinstated.
Terence Price has created the e-petition to have the 620 route, which ran from St Helens to Bolton, put back on.
It was originally withdrawn in 2008 due to low passenger numbers, bus company Arriva said.
But on his online petition, Mr Price claims: “I have talked to a lot of people in my local area who travel from St Helens to Bolton, but have to travel via Wigan to do so.
“I have also spoken to a large number of people in St Helens and Bolton who have said they would use the service if the link was reintroduced, many of whom frequently used the old service.”
A spokesman for Arriva said: “There are no current plans to extend the 620 service through to Bolton.
“However we always welcome comments and feedback from our customers, and continue to review our services on a regular basis.”
At the time of writing the petition — on change.org — had attracted 26 supporters.
