DRIVERS were injured when two cars collided head-on in Darcy Lever.
The smash happened in Radcliffe Road on Tuesday between a black Vauxhall Astra and a silver hatchback, both of which sustained extensive damage to the front.
It happened at 5.20pm and police including Traffic PCSO Gareth Walker were on hand to direct traffic and help clear the road.
A police spokesman said two men made off on foot from one of the cars following the crash, and left the car on the roadside.
A spokesman for the North West Ambulance Service said: "There were multiple patients.
"One had chest pain and was taken to Salford Royal Hospital."
No details of the other casualties were available but only one ambulance was despatched to the scene.
