SUPERHEOROES both little and large are invited to Bolton this weekend for a day of sci-fi fun.
Heroes of the big screen and comic book world are being celebrated at Bolton Sci-fi Comic Book Fair on Sunday.
The event at the Holiday Inn welcoming the return of Star Wars arch villain Darth Vader as well as a whole host of other 'cosplayers' dressed as icons of science fiction.
Organisers MSE Events, which also host the annual Bolton Official Comic Con, is hosting the family day in aid of Bolton Hospice.
Ken Hampson, from MSE Events, said: "Darth Vader may be dead in terms of the more recent Star Wars films, but our Lord Vader will certainly be alive and kicking at our show with lightsaber in hand to entertain families and fans of the genre alike.
"We also hope to have other well known cosplayers attending such as Iron Man and Batwoman and Robin, to name but a few."
As well as getting the opportunity to pose up with their favourite heroes, visitors will be able to peruse a range of gifts and stalls, including comic books, collectables and memorabilia from the world of Marvel, DC, Doctor Who, Star Wars and more.
"If enough children turn up in their favourite costumes, then we will run a children's cosplay competition too with prizes for the best three entries," Mr Hampson added.
Following on from the fair this Sunday, organisers also plan to host another sci-fi event towards the end of the year.
The fair will be open from 10am-5pm, with £3 admission on the door and free for children aged five and under.
