A CHURCH hall in Harwood will be demolished and a modern multi-purpose community building will be developed in its place.
Councillors approved plans by Harwood Methodist Church to create a new worship space and community facilities.
The existing Longsight Methodist Church Hall and the adjacent building will be knocked down and the new development will including a multi-use community hall.
Councillors highlighted residents' concerns over traffic.
Cllr Mudasir Dean said: "Residents mainly on Longsight Lane are concern about parking places and overspill during large gatherings.
"I propose to approve, but with the condition we look at travel plans to ensure they are adequate parking."
His idea for a travel plan was supported by Cllr Nick Peel.
