The UK’s “biggest tribute festival” is gearing up for another big year in Bolton.

Boltfest, the free rock based festival, is in the middle of announcing some of the bands due to play this year.

The festival will see tributes to some of the biggest names from classic rock including Guns & Roses, Foo Fighters, and Muse, with more names to be announced.

The event will take place on May 27 and 28 at Queen’s Park in Bolton.

Event organiser Jools Taylor has expressed his excitement at the coming project.

When asked to which act he was most looking forward, he said: “All of them to be honest, and I’m not just saying that. Obviously we put a lot of effort into getting the bands and we are looking forward to them all equally. They all compliment each other really well.”

Pre-registration for tickets is still available until midnight Friday 13, after which general released tickets will be made available on February 3.

Last year all 10,000 tickets were quickly snapped up for the event, so Mr Taylor introduced the pre-registration system, with the possibility for those who have pre-registered to win VIP tickets.

The tickets themselves are free, and all that needs to be paid is a small booking fee.

Mr Taylor added: “This is definitely the best year so far. It’s been building up since it’s inception - we are in our third year now and we’re getting better every year.”
