A BOLTON presenter and a Blackrod parrot had a starring role in a new late night chat show.

Wednesday’s edition of ITV’s The Nightly Show saw comedian Paddy McGuinness chat to host Davina McCall.

The Take Me Out presenter joked around with Davina about dating shows, as she used to front her own — Streetmate back in the 1990s.

The “singles” episode saw her interview Paddy and comedian Julian Clary, orchestrate a mini matchmaking session and run a race around the studio all in the space of 30 minutes.

Earlier in the show, Davina told viewers of a news story involving an estate agents using a giant parrot to sell a house. Pictures of the three-bedroom, semi-detached house — in Boardman Street, Blackrod — feature a man dressed as a giant bird striking a pose in each room.

As reported in The Bolton News on March 7, estate agents at Platinum Properties in Winter Hey Lane, Horwich, decided to have a bit of fun when putting the home on the market.

Davina will end her week-long stint presenting the show on Friday night and viewers named her The Nightly Show’s best host so far.

The experienced presenter has been turning opinions of the heavily slammed chat show around this week, bringing on extra guests and audience participation.

Viewer ratings have steadily dropped since the week night programme launched, previously hosted by comedians David Walliams and John Bishop.
