NORTHERN has said that it will only be able to run a limited service during upcoming strike action.
Members of the RMT union working for the train company are set to strike on Friday, September 1 and Monday, September 4.
The strike will come as many people return to school and work following the summer holidays.
Northern has said that the majority of available trains will operate between 7am and 7pm, with services on some routes finishing earlier.
When trains are running, the overall number of services will be ‘significantly reduced’ and trains and replacement bus services are expected to be extremely busy.
If services are delayed by more than 30 minutes customers will be eligible for compensation.
The strike is the latest action in a long-running dispute over staffing levels and the union is looking for a guarantee that all services will have an onboard guard going forward.
