WINNING PLACE: Eagley Brass Band
EAGLEY Band really did hit the right note — winning the £700 at the 2018 Butlins Brass Band Championships in Skegness.
The win comes after the band, under musical director Chris Wormald, scored a win at the Ripon Brass Band Contest. This time the band won third place.
Conductor Mr Wormald said: “I don’t think I have ever been more happy with achieving a third place before and it is a tribute to the fantastic effort all of the players have put in. Having said that, many observers on the day thought we had achieved the impossible and won the contest outright, such was the quality at this higher level.”
