A WOMAN who was on life support with swine flu is recovering.
Carol Williams, from Bromley Cross, is now able to talk to her family and is expected to move to a Manchester Royal Infirmary general ward, from high dependency, this week.
Mrs Williams, aged 42, was struck down by swine flu at Christmas. She has been in hospital since Boxing Day and put on a life-support machine on New Year’s Eve.
Her mother, Brenda Nuttall, said she was happy and relieved to see her daughter recovering. “We have been told it is going to be a long job. We can talk to her now and she remembers everything before the illness but nothing since. Her hair has grown long and she is enjoying reading the odd newspaper.
“She is doing really well and we are delighted,” said Mrs Nuttall. Mother of two Mrs Williams works as a health visitor in Tyldesley.
