PROTESTERS against the Government's decision to send asylum seekers back to the war-torn Democratic Republic of the Congo will gather in Bolton tonight for a special meeting.
Bolton is home to a number of families - including the Sukula and the Ndombassi family - who have fled the African country, which has been left devastated by civil war.
Irfu Ndombassi, head of his family, is being held in a detention centre in London, but his wife Zola and son Wenebau, aged 13, are living in Bolton.
The Sukula family fled to the UK nearly six years ago after suffering political persecution. They fear they could be imprisoned if they are forced to go back.
The meeting has been called to rally support for both families and others like them. It will take place at Bolton Socialist Centre, Wood Street at 7.30pm.
