BOLTON law firm Keoghs has been shortlisted for four prestigious legal industry awards.

The company, based at The Parklands, near The Reebok Stadium, and with offices in Manchester and Coventry, is up for regional (North West) law firm of the year at the British Legal Awards.

In addition, the firm is in the running in three separate categories of the Personal Injury Awards which focus on Keogh’s core market.

Partner David Pugh has been nominated for defendant lawyer of the year and Helen Tinsley, who joined the company in 2007, for young achiever, while the rest of their colleagues in the disease section have been shortlisted for the team award for the third time four years, winning in 2009 and 2011.

Gary Fitzpatrick, Keoghs’ director of technical claims, said: “We are delighted that our disease team have been recognised in three different categories at this year’s personal injury awards.

“It is an indication of the significant progress they have made in a number of areas; whether leading debate and shaping future strategy for our clients, as David does, or minimising client costs and indemnity spend which is the team’s overall strategy, we feel that this area of our business is beyond compare nationally, as well as regionally.”

He added: “I am particularly pleased that one of our young solicitors, Helen Tinsley, has also been shortlisted. We take training and development of our staff very seriously.

“Her selection underlines our approach and determination to train and retain our best staff so they can expand their knowledge and expertise and so advance within the firm.”

On being shortlisted for the prestigious regional law firm of the year at the British Legal Awards, one of the most sought after awards in the legal sector, Keoghs chief executive, John Whittle, said: “It is a great honour to be chosen as a representative of the region at such a distinguished awards ceremony.”

The winners of the Personal Injury Awards will be announced at a gala dinner at the Park Plaza Hotel, London, on Tuesday, November 26.

Two days later, the British Legal Awards winners will be announced at Old Billingsgate Market, also in London.
