BOLTON construction company Artez has won a £2.6 million deal to redevelop the former Littlewoods complex in Liverpool.

The local firm has been appointed as the contractor by creative property developer Capital and Centric Plc to redevelop the first phase of the space known as the Bunker Building.

The conversion will see the 22,000 sq ft area transformed into office suites over two floors and Capital and Centric is already fielding enquiries from prospective occupiers.

Artez, based at Springfield Court, Summerfield Road, Great Lever, was appointed as preferred contactor following a tendering process recently.

Managing director Mike Banton, who had previously worked on the scheme when he was a director at Urban Splash — the intended developers of Littlewoods before the economic crash of 2008.

“I have a longstanding affinity with this building and it is an absolute pleasure to be once again involved in this redevelopment,” he said.

Artez was founded by Mr Banton in 2010 and has built up a business with a turnover of more than £4 million.
