A LUXURY travel agency based in Bolton has been named the best of its kind in the country at an award ceremony hosted by Bolton’s Paddy McGuinness.

Destinology was crowned Luxury Travel Agency of the Year at the Travel Trad Gazette (TTG) awards.

Marketing executive Emma Morris received the award at the Lyceum Theatre In London watched by hundreds of travel industry leaders from across the UK before moving on to London’s Savoy Hotel for a party.

Managing director of Destinology, Liz Hingley, said: “It’s great to see our store getting the recognition it deserves. ”

Founded in 2004, Destinology, based at Hall Lane, Lostock, is one of the UK’s leading luxury travel companies, recording a turnover of £48 million in 2013 and offering bespoke holidays to luxury hotels and resorts in major international destinations, including the Maldives, Dubai, the Caribbean, the Far East, the USA and Europe.

As well as Destinology’s in Bolton, it has a retail store in Wilmslow, Cheshire, together employing more than 100 staff and selling over 30,000 holidays annually.
