SIXTH form students are being invited to gain insight into of the world of business with the help of Bolton based accountant.

Cowgill Holloway launched its Future Starts programme, which will see two Year 12 students from Bolton School take part in a placement lasting three or four weeks.

Successful applicants gaining access to the programme will spend time in each of the accountants’ departments, learning about audit, tax, business recovery, wealth management, corporate finance and marketing.

In addition the students will attend meetings, completing project work and shadowing partners and senior managers.

Those interested have to apply by filling out an application and completing an interview with a partner at the firm, as if they were applying for a job.

Rob Lord, partner at Cowgill Holloway said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for the Year 12 boys and girls.

"Our work experience programme offers students the opportunity to spend time observing and working on real projects within all departments in our firm.

"The programme is designed for students who are considering a future career in accountancy and finance. It will hopefully allow them to narrow down their career preference even further.

"It will also provide a platform should they decide to apply for a graduate scheme after university.”
