BOLTON's second trampoline park is set to open — with the new £1.5 million site set to provide 40 new jobs.

Welsh firm Jump Xtreme Ltd is readying its site, which covers two vacant premises at the Trinity Retail Park close to St Peter’s Way.

The walls between the former Allied Carpets and Power stores have been knocked through to provide an area able to fit in more than 150 trampolines.

The company is now searching for 40 staff, including 20 full time and 20 part time staff, to take on several different roles within the operation.

Simon Lloyd, operations manager at the firm, said he hoped people would come down and take up trampolining.

He said: "If people want to have fun and want to get fit and exercise at the same time, I would recommend people to come down.

"It's fantastic for exercise. Running on the treadmill can be boring but with trampolining you can have fun and exercise at the same time. You know you have had a worth out after 45 minutes on the trampoline."

The park is set to open for a "soft launch" on March 12, with final tests being carried out over that week until the official opening date on March 19.

As well as trampolines, the venue will have areas where people can play dodgeball and take part in fitness classes.

It will have a balcony overlooking the play areas, which will feature a coffee shop so people can enjoy refreshments while watching the action below.

The units in the retail park have been vacant for two and a half years.

Plans for the trampoline park were approved by Bolton Council's planning committee in November.

The new Jump Extreme site follows the opening of the Air Vault centre on Wingates Industrial Estate in Westhoughton, which was unveiled by X Factor star Jake Quickenden in October.

Bolton will be the company's first site, and bosses have plans to open a further 10 in the following three years.

Roles within the new site include monitors for the trampolines, receptionists, cleaners, party hosts, coffee shop staff and management.
