A THIEF has been sent to prison for four weeks after selling meat worth £21.63 from the Co-op.

Michael Heyes, aged 46, of no fixed abode, was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150 by Bolton magistrates.

Man fined for damaging phone box - outside police station

A HEATON man was fined after causing £250 worth of damage to a public phone — outside a police station.

Mario Horvath, aged 25, of Dougill Street, admitted the offence which happened outside Scholey Street police station on November 1.

He was fined £240 by Bolton magistrates and ordered to pay compensation of £250, a victim surcharge of £24, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150.

Attacker, 19, sentenced

A SHARPLES man has been sentenced to a community order after being found guilty of assaulting a woman.

Adam Booth, aged 19, of Thornham Drive, must carry out 80 hours of unpaid work within the next year and must pay compensation of £100, a victim surcharge of £60 and costs of £400.

Thief stole iPad from Argos

A THIEF who stole an iPad from Argos has been given a conditional discharge for 12 months.

Lewis Greenway, aged 27, of Withins Lane, Breightmet, admitted stealing the device worth £320 and was ordered to pay compensation of £320, a victim surcharge of £15, costs of £100 and a criminal courts charge of £180 by Bolton magistrates.

Speaker thief teen sentenced

A TEENAGER who stole a speaker from Boots has been sentenced to a community order.

David Carty, aged 18, of Rushton Road, Halliwell, admitted the offence and has been ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £110 and a criminal courts charge of £180 by Bolton magistrates.

A HORWICH man has been sentenced to a community order after admitting assaulting a woman.

Michael Jones, aged 34, of Rowan Avenue, was fined £20 and must pay a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150 by Bolton magistrates.
