A PRISONER climbed over a 10ft high dock before being chased through Bolton Crown Court by security staff and police.

Scott Gore tried to grab keys from a female dock officer before scaling the glass fronted dock, forcing his way through a small gap at the top and dropping down the other side.

The 25-year-old then hurtled out of the room, past shocked barristers and court staff and ran down the stairs from the third floor landing.

He was caught a short time later, still inside the building, by the court based police officer.

Gore, of Willows Lane, Deane, had become agitated when he was sentenced to 10 months in prison by Recorder Simon Killeen.

He had been convicted of two counts of taking a motorbike and scooter, using them without a licence or insurance and being in breach of a suspended sentence for illegally possessing an air rifle.

No one was injured during his escape attempt but Gore was taken to hospital for precautionary checks.

The Crown Prosecution Service is now considering bringing further charges against Gore in connection with the attempted escape.
