Town centre beggar fined

A BEGGAR who was twice caught asking passers-by for cash in Bolton town centre has been fined by magistrates.

Wayne Moran, aged 44, of no fixed address, admitted begging in Newport Arcade on November 19 and then in Trinity Street on December 7.

He was fined £100 and was detained for a day at Bolton courthouse.

Meat thief jailed

A SHOPLIFTER who stole meat from Bolton stores to fund drug debts has been jailed for 24 weeks.

At Bolton Magistrates Court Reece Hopkins, aged 21, of Mosley Common Road, Worsley, admitted taking the meat, worth a total of £111, from Tesco and the Co-op on January 21.

He also pleaded guilty to stealing a mobile phone and failing to surrender to court.

In addition to the jail sentence he was ordered to pay a total of £431 in compensation.

Man admits assault

A MAN was told to complete 100 hours of unpaid work after admitting assaulting a woman on New Years Eve.

Carol Boyer, aged 44, of Shawcroft View, Hall i' th' Wood, was sentenced to a community order and also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and costs of £85.

Man caused car’s damage

A BREIGHTMET man who damaged a Seat Ibiza has been conditionally discharged.

Lee Aldred, aged 37, of Withins Lane, admitted causing £350 worth of damage to the car and was given a conditional discharge for 12 months.

Bolton magistrates also ordered him to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £85.

Man jailed

A BOLTON man has been sent to prison after having a "blatant disregard" for court orders.

Lee Smith, aged 33, of Manchester Road, was sent to prison for 24 weeks after breaching a restraining order.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80 by Bolton magistrates.

27-year-old man jailed

MAGISTRATES sentenced a man who admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to a prison sentence of 26 weeks.

Bobby Stewart, aged 27, of Valpy Avenue, Hall i' th' Wood, was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80 by Bolton magistrates.

Restraining order broken

A DAUBHILL man who breached a restraining order has been sent to prison for 26 weeks.

Gary Stevenson, aged 38, of Gregson Field, was described as having a "blatant disregard" by Bolton magistrates.

He admitted the offence and was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80.

Man is put under curfew

A FARNWORTH man was ordered to observe a three month curfew after admitting assaulting a woman.

Shaun Keohane, aged 20, of Brookhouse Avenue, Farnworth, was sentenced to a community order and must observe the curfew from 7pm to 7am.

Bolton magistrates also ordered him to pay compensation of £100, a victim surcharge of £60 and costs of £85.

Court bans drink driver

A DRINK driver has been banned from holding a licence for 17 months after admitting committing the offence whilst driving on Chorley New Road, Bolton, on January 8.

Andrew Grey, aged 33, of Aspinall Court, Horwich, was driving a Ford Focus on the road when he was stopped.

In addition to the driving ban, Bolton magistrates was fined £120 and ordered to pay £105 in costs and charges.

Cannabis grower handed conditional discharge

A CANNABIS grower has been sentenced to a conditional discharge for two years by Bolton magistrates after admitting producing the drug.

John Casey, aged 47, of Anson Street, Bolton, was caught growing cannabis on January 6 and, in addition to the sentence, had drug producing paraphernalia confiscated and was ordered to pay £100 in costs and charges.

Door damage man fined

A VANDAL who damaged a door in a Bolton at Home property has been fined £215 by Bolton magistrates.

Ryan Dickinson, aged 36, of Crompton Way, Bolton, admitted causing the damage on January 10 and was ordered to pay £200 compensation plus £105 in costs and charges.

Unpaid work sentence for cycle lock thief

A COURT has sentenced a thief, who stole a cycle lock from a Bolton store, to undertake 60 hours unpaid work.

Bolton magistrates were told how Billy Hilton, aged 33, of Blackbank Street, Bolton, took the lock, worth £20, from B&Q on December 14 last year.

He pleaded guilty and was also ordered to pay £145 in costs and charges.

Man jailed after damaging woman's car

A MAN who damaged a woman's car after repeatedly ignoring a restraining order banning him from contacting her has been jailed for 26 weeks.

Bolton magistrates heard how, on January 21, Luke Brown, aged 25, of Westland Avenue, Farnworth, went to the woman's home address and vandalised her Vauxhall Adam car, causing damage estimated at £200.

He pleaded guilty to committing the offences and the court was told it was the third time he had breached the restraining order.

In addition to the jail sentence he was ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge and £200 compensation to his victim.

Fly tipper ordered to pay more than £1,000

A FLY tipper who dumped rubbish at the back of a Great Lever Street has been fined by Bolton magistrates.

Imran Khan, aged 28, of McKean Street, Great Lever admitted leaving the waste in Back McKean Street on July 17 last year.

In addition to the £150 fine he was ordered to pay £1,000 in costs and charges.

Threats man sentenced to do unpaid work

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to do 40 hours unpaid work after he admitted using threatening behaviour towards a woman on December 19.

Daniel Barlow, aged 25, of Buckley Lane, Farnworth, was also ordered undertake 15 days of rehabilitation activity, pay £145 in costs and charges and £50 compensation.

A restraining order was made banning him from contacting his victim or entering Macdonald Avenue, Farnworth.
