A 35-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with rape.

Police named the man who was charged late on Tuesday night as Kristion Beilon, of Cawdor Street, Farnworth.

The suspect appeared at Bolton Magistrates' Court today.

He was remanded back in custody to appear before Bolton Crown Court at a later date.

The charge follows a police investigation prompted by the discovery by passers-by of a 29-year-old woman on the inside lane of the southbound A666 St Peter's Way, between the Farnworth and Kearsley exits, on Saturday at about 9.40pm.

She told police she had been raped and assaulted and was taken to hospital.

GMP continues to appeal for information to help identify two other men (pictured below) who detectives wish to speak to in connection with their enquiry.
