18-month ban for drug driver

A MOTORIST has been banned from getting behind the wheel for 18 months after driving under the influence of drugs.

Callum Williams, aged 19, of Waggon Road, Breightmet, drove a Renault Clio in Bradford Road, Bolton, on April 22 while under the influence of cannabis.

He admitted driving under the influence of drugs and driving without insurance to Salford and Manchester magistrates and was also ordered to pay £295 in fines and court costs.

Litter charge withdrawn

A WOMAN was summonsed to court after being accused of dropping litter in the street.

Rebecca McCorie, aged 28, of Laurent Close, Bolton, was alleged to have walked off after dropping the litter in New Bailey Street on October 29 last year.

However, the allegation has now been withdrawn after a hearing at Salford and Manchester Magistrates Court.

Breightmet man who crashed Audi banned from driving

A MOTORIST has been banned from driving for a year by magistrates.

Cal Smith, of Deepdale Road, Breightmet, took an Audi A3 without the owner's consent on May 16 and crashed into another vehicle, causing damage.

He was driving the M-reg car in Long Lane, Breightmet, without insurance and without a licence.

The 31-year-old was sentenced after admitting the three offences at Bolton Magistrates' Court.

He received a 12-week community order with a 7pm-to-5am electronically-monitored curfew.

Smith must pay £300 compensation, an £85 victim surcharge and £85 court costs and was disqualified from the road for 12 months.

Drink driver handed ban

A TEENAGE motorist has been sentenced for drink driving.

Bradley Holden, 19, of Jethro Street, Tonge Moor, was behind the wheel of a Honda Civic Sport stopped in Scowcroft Street, Tonge Moor, on June 9.

He gave a reading of 49mg in 100ml of breath against a legal limit of 35mg. Holden admitted drink driving and driving without a licence at Bolton Magistrates Court and was given a 12-month community order including a three-day programme requirement, victim awareness sessions, a rehabilitation activity for up to 30 days and 100 hours of unpaid work. He was disqualified from for 18 months and must pay an £85 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Magistrates fine man for assault

MAGISTRATES have fined a man £100 after he admitted assaulting a woman and damaging her mobile phone, windows, doors and television in Bolton on June 8.

At Bolton Magistrates' Court Mark Smith, aged 25, of Seddon Lane, Radcliffe, was ordered to participate in a 12 day improving relationships programme and 25 days of rehabilitation activity.

Smith was also told he must pay £170 in costs and charges.

Man was in breach of court order

A MAN was detained at Bolton Magistrates' Court for a day after breaching a restraining order just two days after it was imposed.

On June 27 Philip Ward, aged 46, of Brunswick Street, Bury, was banned by a court from contacting a woman.

But just two days later Ward allowed the woman to stay at his home.

Ward was released from court, the time spent there deemed to be his punishment, and he was ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs.

Jailed man used force

A MAN who used violence to enter a home in Westhoughton has been jailed for eight weeks by Bolton magistrates.

Daniel Dyson, aged 33, of Birch Avenue, Westhoughton, pleaded guilty to forcing his way into a property in Holden Lea and damaging a door and window, worth £1,000, on May 29.

The court heard that Dyson was on licence at the time he committed the offences.

He was also ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Man rapped for peace breach

A MAN has been ordered to keep the peace for 12 months or face having to hand over £100.

At Bolton Magistrates' Court Jermaine Brooks, aged 18, of Kenyon Way, Little Hulton, admitted behaviour which caused a breach of the peace in Bolton on April 17.

£2 fare dodger fined £440

A TRAIN passenger has been fined £440 for failing to pay a £2.60 fare.

Bolton magistrates heard how James Adewale, aged 40, of Osborne Grove, Bolton, travelled from Manchester Piccadilly to Levenshulme and tried to use an expired Bolton to Manchester ticket.

He failed to pay a fixed penalty and the case against him was proved in his absence at court.

In addition to the fine he was ordered to pay £2.60 compensation plus £194 in costs and charges.

Driver is given £660 fine

A MOTORISTS has been fined £660 and ordered to pay £155 court costs after he drove without insurance.

Aqid Hamid, aged 24, of Chorley New Road, Bolton, committed the offence while driving a Volkswagen Golf in Radcliffe Moor Road, Radcliffe, on April 27.

The charged was proved at Salford Magistrates Court under the single justice procedure.

Hamid was also given six penalty points.

Driver banned

A SPEEDING motorist has been banned from driving for 28 days.

Mohammed Aakil Patel, aged 24, of Cavenham Grove, Bolton, drove an Audi at 66mph in a 40mph zone in Broad Street, Salford, on December 7.

He admitted speeding to Salford magistrates and was also ordered to pay £260 in fines and court costs.

Man guilty of breaking woman's window

RYAN Woodworth, aged 21, of Wingate Road, Little Hulton, admitted to Salford magistrates that he broke a woman's window at a house in Salford, and the damage caused £100 to put right.

Woodworth was ordered to pay his victim £100 compensation and £165 court costs.

Driver handed penalty points

AMIR Atcha, aged 36, of Pinewood Close, Bolton, drove a Ford Fiesta in Sherbourne Road, Bolton, on May 18 without a licence or insurance.

The two offences were proved under the single justice procedure at Salford Magistrates Court.

Atcha was given eight penalty points and ordered to pay £811 in fines and court costs.

Driver must pay out £448

A FARNWORTH man has admitted driving without a licence and insurance.

Scott Anthony Scholes, aged 30, of Danebridge Close, admitted to Salford magistrates that he committed the offences while driving a Volkswagen Polo in Ormrod Street, Bolton, on May 8.

He was given six penalty points and ordered to pay £448 in fines and court costs.

Driver had no licence

A HEATON man is £811 out of pocket after driving without a licence, insurance and MOT.

Ricardo Balog, aged 20, of Kendall Road, committed the offences while driving a Vauxhall Astra in Derby Street, Bolton, on April 1.

The charge was proved under the single justice procedure at Salford Magistrates Court and Balog was given six penalty points, fined £660 and ordered to pay £151 court costs.

Woman gets prison term

A WOMAN who breached the terms of a court order has been jailed for two weeks.

Gillian Lindsay, aged 30, of Westway, Little Hulton, was given a community order by Salford magistrates after she was convicted of using threatening words or behaviour with intent to cause a person distress on February 13 last year.

However, Lindsay failed to show up for unpaid work sessions on September 20 and November 9 last year and was brought back before the bench.

Sentencing her, magistrates said it was the third time she had breached the order and she had showed a lack of compliance with non-custodial sentences.
