A DRIVER who allegedly ran off with his child passengers and abandoned his car after it struck a bus is still sought by police.
Witnesses said the man's BMW suffered a "glancing head-on" blow with a 597 Diamond Buses minibus service in Manchester Road, Astley, at 11am on Sunday. (July 10)
The bus driver and one of the around dozen passengers aboard the bus, which came to a stop when it hit a wall after the collision, were examined by paramedics for minor injuries.
After rebounding off the bus the BMW carried on for between 50m and 60m and careered into a BT exchange cabinet and a lamp post and spun around.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed the BMW driver "failed to stop" and is still "outstanding" and investigating officers have not spoken to him.
