A CYCLIST is fighting for his life in hospital after he was hit by a van in Little Lever.
The accident happened at about 9.20am this morning in Stopes Road.
The man suffered serious head injuries and was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital.
The driver of the van, a white Peugeot Expert, was unhurt in the collision and is helping the police with enquiries.
Stopes Road is closed between Bolton Road and Masefield Road while the emergency services deal with the incident.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
