STAFF and children at St Michael’s CE Primary School held a special celebration to mark the grand opening of new facilities.
Pupils sang and took part in African drumming, poetry recitals and a French masterclass.
There were also cricket and athletic team displays, while Year Six pupils led tours of the schools and the teachers dressed as book characters.
The school has had a new library, an ICT suite with new computers and iPads, and an Early Years Foundation Unit with an extensive outdoor learning area.
All classrooms from Year One to Year Six have been either extended, refurbished or are new buildings.
Alison Hart, headteacher of the Great Lever school, said: “St Michael’s is a very special place. Staff and governors feel privileged to work with our supportive, richly diverse school community.
“Everyone is committed to ensuring that our school progresses to reflect current and future educational needs.”
Year Six pupil, Hafsa Musa, added: “I think St Michael’s is incredible because we celebrate our achievements each week, and we use state-of-the-art technology.”
