A VOYEUR who filmed youngsters at a Bolton primary school has admitted sexually assaulting a girl.

Adam Curnock, who was sacked as a welfare assistant at Harwood Meadows Community Primary School in November when he was arrested, had already pleaded guilty to five charges relating to possession of indecent images and one of voyeurism.

Now he has also admitted a raft of new offences, including the sexual assault of a girl.

He also pleaded guilty via video link at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court yesterday to making of thousands of indecent images of children and taking 52 indecent photographs.

The 33 separate offences were committed between January 1 and November 14.

Police raided 30-year-old Curnock's Harley Avenue home in Harwood on Friday, November 14.

He was initially arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children — but he was also accused of voyeurism after detectives received further information.

Bosses at the school wrote to and emailed parents to inform them of an “ongoing safeguarding investigation”.

Police also contacted families who they believe may be directly affected by the matter.

The case has also been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission because it is thought that intelligence had been received on Curnock’s actions at an earlier stage.

In the letter sent out to parents, the school said: “We have been informed that the individual has been arrested and charged with a number of offences and after appearing in court, has been remanded in custody.”

The 27 new offences include the possession of 408 indecent images of children, making 2,427 indecent images of children and possessing two prohibited images of a child.

Curnock has also admitted the possession of one extreme image involving sex with animals.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced at Bolton Crown Court on February 26.
